Ok, I'm told by family I don't blog enough so in order to keep up with my brothers, (who also haven't blogged in days) I'll try to write something. I just don't feel my life is as interesting as theirs and I definitely don't write as well them either. So, excuse any misspelled words, missplaced commas or punctuation and try to enjoy. :)
I have great hopes for 2009. I turned 25 last Novemeber and feel old. I realize that I will not be young forever and really need to get stuff straight. I'll have been married for two years this April and am starting to get a baby itch. I realize Jose and I are no where near ready to be mommy and daddy, but I can't help but feel a tug inside when I see sweet little babies and families. Though I do admit the fairy tale family vision in my mind fades away when I'm in Walmart and see the screaming toddlers and mother's who look so frazzled. But even still, I can't wait to be mother. Jose says two more years, I say we talk about it at the end of this one. :)
So, besides convincing Jose that we might be ready for kids soon, I plan on working really hard to learn spanish this year. Jose's family speaks beautiful fluent Spanish and since my kids will one day speak Spanish as well, I gotta step up. Stan, my stepdad, has agreed to split the cost of the language learning program Rossetta Stone. I know you have probably seen the commercials, the latest one with Michael Phelps. It says the program is used my the military and NASA. Surely its has to be top notch! (With the cost of the program, it better be!) So, I'm going to learn Spanish.
Another thing I want to become good at this year is baking bread. My sister in law Julie gave me a bread machine for Christmas and I love it!! I haven't bought a loaf of bread since I got it! Its so easy to make fresh bread! But besides becoming master of the bread machine, I also want to learn to bake great bread by hand as well. I've dug out my culinary books from school and am going to really study and learn all I can about the art of bread baking. Besides cakes and cookies, I'll be adding bread to my bakery one day.
Well those are a few my to-do's in '09. I'll try to keep you up to date with how things are going. Happy 2009!

YUM!!
Ok, I'm all about easy and YUMMY recipes and tried this one last night. You could probably use any fruit you like but I tried blackberries and it was delicious!! So go on and try it. It's too easy not too.
Blackberry Cobbler
4 cups blackberries (if using frozen, let thaw first)
Lemon juice
1 egg
1 cup sugar
1 cup flour
6 tablespoon butter, melted
*Place blackberries in a buttered 8X8 casserole dish and sprinkle a little lemon juice over them
*Combine egg, sugar, and flour and mix until it looks like cornmeal
*Spread mixture over blackberries
*Pour melted butter over crumb topping
*Bake for 35-40 minutes, or until browned at 375 degrees.
